White Folks with Talarico Signs

Last week something strange happened in Austin. There were protests of a white family’s home because this family had misunderstood the culture of the black neighborhood into which they had moved. Blacks are culturally very American, and we will freely associate and assemble on any public areas we want at any time we want. This is easy to verify historically.

The street onto which these folks moved is near an HBCU and has open parking. Students have been parking there, it would appear, since the University first came about. Non-resident parking is a normal occurrence in the neighborhood.

This new family seems to have somehow come up with a belief that parking in front of a home was only for residents of that home. How sorely they were mistaken in their beliefs. Oh, how, so, very sorely…

After allegedly having multiple students move their vehicles and leaving harassing notes on the vehicles, the community caught wind of what was going on. It would appear the HBCU students have freely associated with the neighborhood.

A woman with her phone on full record mode captured the Talarico-supporting family saying things like, “We paid $1.5 Million for our house. Y’all’s graduation rate is 25%. This is our Neighborhood!” Thereafter, the community swiftly assembled before the home in public during the light of day to let known their frustrations with the new residents. It was a glorious display of 1st amendment mobilisation.

First of all, I know that neighborhood. I have business in Austin on occasion. If you pay $1.5 Million for a house there, you are certainly not winning any intelligence awards. Further, the house likely has no garage given the nature of the story. I could never be so stupid as to spend $1.5 Million and not at least get a garage for it. Wild.

Second, these apparently childless folks are harassing other people’s children who are just trying to park their cars. Maybe if the left had more children, they’d have more compassion as well. We know this, but it bears mentioning again that Talarico signs are often indicative of anti-family, pro-evil politics. Full stop.

Finally, to take a graduation rate in a community and throw it around like that is the pinnacle of elitism that we have always understood to be a cornerstone of white, liberal politics. Malcolm X warned us all those years ago; we would do well to heed his warning.

I’m not sure exactly how these two Talarico folks are going to get themselves out of this, but it would do them well to walk around the neighborhood, talk to some people, get to know the community, and get ready to blend into the culture; otherwise, the only option would likely be to flee. It does not appear that the community will be altering their behaviors any time soon.
